Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer provided an update on Washington transfer Parker Brailsford, who was away from the team this week.

“Parker is just going through non-football related things,” DeBoer said after the Crimson Tide’s scrimmage on Saturday. “He’ll be with us. He is working with our strength personnel and has done an excellent job there. He has never done anything wrong. It’s not like that. It’s working hard, and he’ll be ready to get here sooner rather than later. Simply taking it day by day.

“He’ll be here with us.” It’s not a transfer situation. It’s not like that. I just want to make sure I am clear. There is nothing on his end that he has done wrong or anything like that.”

Brailsford transferred to the Crimson Tide shortly after DeBoer left the Huskies for Tuscaloosa. Brailsford was a second-team All-Pac 12 and FWAA freshman All-American last year while playing as a redshirt freshman.
During Brailsford’s absence, redshirt junior James Brockermeyer has mainly worked with the first-team offense.

“He’s done a really good job,” DeBoer remarked of Brockermeyer. “He has a lot of opportunity to capture photos and is hanging in there. The communication has been clear. Those five players have been up there; we had Jaeden out for a couple of snaps today, as you mentioned, but he did an excellent job.

“When those possibilities arise, that’s what you should do. He’s taken a lot of photos here during the previous week, six or seven days. It’s great. “Excellent opportunity for him.”

Alabama will hold its final round of practices next week, before A-Day on Saturday, April 13 at Bryant Denny Stadium.
