In yesterday’s game, Nikita Kucherov buzzed Kaiden Guhle. The Lightning forward struck him with a deadly check in the numbers. What’s most unsettling about the film of the sequence is when you see Guhle’s head contact the ice surface very hard: One could expect the NHL to come down on Kuch. But it has not.
One could expect the NHL to come down on Kuch. But it has not.

There’s a lot of debate on numerous platforms today, and many people wonder why the league didn’t crack down to protect its star players.

However, the Habs haven’t had a darn cat come to Guhle’s defense, despite the fact that he is a crucial member of the team’s blue line.

Michael Pezzetta and Arber Xhekaj, who play an agitating role in the Montreal line-up, should have confronted Kucherov and held him accountable for his actions.

And because they didn’t do anything, Tony Marinaro was a little out of his mind on Georges Laraque and Stéphane Gonzalez’s show over what happened.

He’s correct, by the way:

We really need to hope for Guhle’s sake that this isn’t serious.

The defenseman already has a history of concussions. The Habs players are aware of this as well.

The players got away with it because we know how tight they are in the locker room. Yesterday, it appears that the culture took a knock, and I’m sure Martin St-Louis would have liked to see one of his players shake Kucherov later in the game.

It was the very least he could have done.

You don’t have to remove your gloves, but there’s still a way to go…

all we need is wins.
