With so many games on tonight’s NHL schedule, it might be difficult to decide where to start. We at the Last Word on Hockey have helped you limit down your options to our top picks. This round of NHL Predictions will help narrow down the slate to three best bets and one prop bet for the night.

NHL Predictions
New York Rangers versus Arizona Coyotes
Rangers lead 1-0. Coyotes broadcast on MSG, Scripps, and ESPN+.

The New York Rangers will face off against the Arizona Coyotes in our first NHL prediction. Igor Shesterkin is the likely starter, but always check social media before committing to a daily fantasy starter. Jonathan Quick may get a look in goal in this one, so keep an eye on Twitter, aka X. The Blueshirts are 8-2 in their previous 10 games and have won four in a row. This season, Artemi Panarin leads the squad with 43 goals and 60 assists.

Arizona is expected to start Karel Vejmelka in goal. The Coyotes ended the Nashville Predators’ 18-game winning streak last time around. Logan Cooley’s hat trick propelled Arizona to an 8-4 victory over Nashville. The Coyotes are 6-4 in their previous ten games, including two straight wins. Clayton Keller leads the club in goals with 31, and Matias Maccelli has 36 assists.

The Coyotes are playing well, but the Rangers are pursuing the Eastern Conference’s top spot.

Prediction: Rangers win 4–2.

Boston Bruins versus Washington Capitals
Head-to-Head: Bruins 0, Capitals 1
TV: Monument Sports Network; NESN; ESPN+.

The Washington Capitals will host the Boston Bruins in our featured NHL prediction game. Jeremy Swayman is slated to start for the Bruins, who are 6-4 in their previous ten games. This season, David Pastrnak leads the club with 45 goals and 56 assists. The Bruins sit three points behind the Rangers for first place in the league.

Washington is set to use Charlie Lindgren between the pipes. The Capitals will be without Tom Wilson due to suspension, while Ethan Bear has joined the NHL/NHLPA Player Assistance Program. Alex Ovechkin now leads the club with 26 goals, while John Carlson has 38 assists. Carlson will play his 1,000th career game in this encounter.

The Capitals are holding onto the final Wild Card place, but missing players could be the difference in this game.

Prediction: Bruins win 4-1.

San Jose Sharks versus St. Louis Blues

Head-to-Head: Sharks 1-0 Blues TV: Bally Sports Midwest, NBC Sports California and ESPN+

Our final NHL predictions match the San Jose Sharks against the St. Louis Blues. For this game, San Jose will most likely start Mackenzie Blackwood in the blue paint. The Sharks are going through another hard spell in the season, with nine straight losses. Fabian Zetterlund has 20 goals and 15 assists for the Sharks. Thomas Bordeleau has four goals and two helpers in the last ten games.

St. Louis is likely to respond with Jordan Binnington in goal for this encounter. The Blues are 7-2-1 in their last ten games and are attempting to catch the Los Angeles Kings for the last Wild Card berth in the West. St. Louis has a 31-4-1 record when scoring three or more goals in a game. Robert Thomas has contributed 23 goals and 51 assists with the Blues. Jake Neighbours has six goals and three assists over the last ten games.

The Blues need wins like these to chase the Kings for the last Stanley Cup playoff position. San Jose will make an effort against St. Louis, but the hosts will prevail.

Prediction: Blues win 5-2.

Prop bet of the night

We’ll stick with the final game of the night for our prop bet of the evening. Pavel Buchnevich leads St. Louis in goals, with 26. We like Buchnevich to win the over with +0.5 goals.
