Kyle Walker of Manchester City exited the pitch early during England’s football match against Brazil on Saturday night, and he now faces a vital 36-hour wait to determine the extent of his injuries. He may also miss City’s crucial upcoming Premier League match against Arsenal.

Walker started for England at Wembley Stadium, but was substituted by Ezri Konsa after only 20 minutes owing to what appeared to be hamstring injury. Instead of sitting on the bench, he went directly to the locker room.

Despite this sad tragedy, England fought valiantly but ultimately lost to Brazil in the friendly football match, with Brazilian striker Endrick scoring the winning goal in the 80th minute.

Gareth Southgate, England’s manager, addressed Walker’s position following the match. “We don’t know yet [about Kyle Walker’s injury],” he told the Manchester Evening News.

“He is feeling something but he is not a player that is injured very often so he is not quite certain what it is so we will have to assess it over the next couple of days.”

Walker’s condition would be assessed again within the next day or two, according to BBC 5Live Sport, because he felt a “tightness”. The thirty-three-year-old right-back has been an important member of Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City squad, appearing in 26 Premier League games this season.

Guardiola will be crossing his fingers and hope that Walker’s injury is not too serious ahead of next weekend’s Premier League clash against Arsenal, as they look to overhaul the Gunners and Liverpool in the title race.
