Liverpool are currently resting up during the season’s last international break.

The Reds will not play again until March 31, when they face Brighton in the Premier League. From there, Liverpool has 10 more games to try to win the league title against Manchester City and Arsenal.

Jurgen Klopp’s squad is also vying for the Europa League in the final weeks of the season. The Reds will meet Atalanta in their quarter-final match, with a win over two legs securing a semi-final against either Benfica or Marseille.

However, Klopp will be hopeful that Liverpool’s injury list improves following the international break. The Reds have had to deal with numerous of their key players for extended periods of time this season, and there are currently concerns about 12 players.

Darwin Nunez

Darwin Nunez suffered a suspected hamstring injury against Manchester United on March 17, as reported by Klopp after the game. The Liverpool manager hoped, however, that the injury was not serious.

Nunez was left out of the Uruguay squad for the international break in order to recover from his injury on Merseyside. It remains to be seen whether he will be available to face Brighton on March 31.

Potential return date: Brighton (H) – March 31.

Luis Diaz

Luis Diaz was suspected to have suffered a groin injury during Liverpool’s defeat to Manchester United on Sunday. Diaz played 120 minutes at Old Trafford, and Klopp stated after the game that the forward had sustained a probable injury.

Liverpool received a boost this week, however, when Diaz trained for Colombia. The Reds will be hoping Diaz returns to Merseyside and is available to face Brighton later this month.

Potential return date: Brighton (H) – March 31.

Cody Gakpo

Cody Gakpo may have injured his ankle during Sunday’s defeat to Manchester United. After the match, Klopp stated that the forward twisted his ankle after coming off the bench.

On Tuesday, Gakpo was photographed training for the Netherlands while on foreign duty. As a result, there is hope that Gakpo’s injury concerns have been alleviated, and that he will be eligible to face Brighton on Merseyside.

Potential return date: Brighton (H) – March 31.

Trent Alexander–Arnold

Trent Alexander–Arnold continues to recuperate from a knee injury sustained in January. The right-back made a brief comeback early last month but was replaced at halftime against Burnley on February 10 in his first start with the same injury.

As a result, Alexander-Arnold has been recovering for several weeks but is getting closer to a return. Klopp suggested last week that the Liverpool vice-captain would return after the international break, but not until the second week at the most.

Possible return date: Manchester United (A) – April 7

Alisson Becker

Alisson Becker has been sidelined with a hamstring ailment for several weeks. The Brazilian last appeared for Liverpool on February 4, in a 3-1 defeat to Arsenal.

Liverpool has not offered a specific date for Alisson’s comeback to the matchday squad. The team hopes he will return sometime next month, and an update is expected when Klopp speaks to the media again next week.

Potential return date: April

Diogo Jota

Diogo Jota has been out with a knee injury since February 17 in a 4-1 victory against Brentford. The Portuguese international has been rehabilitating for several weeks and is nearing a return.

Klopp indicated that Jota will return shortly after the international. Brighton at home will be too soon, but there is hope for early April.

Possible return date: Manchester United (A) – April 7

Curtis Jones

Curtis Jones was also injured in the aforementioned victory over Brentford and has been out with an ankle problem. Jones has been recovering ever since, but he is close to returning.

Klopp indicated last week that he expects Jones to play against Brighton next week. However, this will be contingent on how his rehabilitation proceeds over the next week or so.

Potential return date: Brighton (H) – March 31.

Ibrahima Konate

Ibrahima Konate has been absent for the last four Liverpool matches due to a muscular issue. On March 7, the centre-back was injured during the second half of the Europa League’s 5-1 victory over Sparta Prague.

Konate has since participated in training for the France national team while on international duty. As a result, there is hope that Konate will return against Brighton next week.

Potential return date: Brighton (H) – March 31.

Thiago Alcantara

Thiago Alcantara has only played five minutes of football for Liverpool this season owing to injury. The midfielder appeared briefly in February’s defeat to Arsenal, his sole outing of the season.

Thiago is currently rehabilitating from a hamstring injury sustained during the loss at Emirates Stadium. It remains to be seen whether he will return this season.

Potential return date: unknown.

Stephan Bajcetic

Stefan Bajcetic has suffered with injury this season, making only two appearances. His last outing was in September, and he has spent the past few months recovering.

Bajcetic has gradually improved his fitness, but has yet to return to squad training. Klopp stated last week that he hoped to have Bajcetic back in training following the international break.

Potential return date: April

Joel Matip

Joel Matip has been rehabilitating from an ACL injury sustained against Fulham on February 3. The injury is expected to sideline the centre-back for the rest of the season.

Matip’s contract is set to expire in the summer. As things stand, it’s unclear whether Matip will play another game for Liverpool.

Potential return date: unknown.

Ben Doak

Ben Doak suffered a knee injury while playing for the club’s Under-21s in December.

The injury is expected to take a long time to heal, and Liverpool does not yet know when the gifted forward will be available again.

Potential return date: unknown.
