Klopp said that Darwin Nunez, Luis Diaz, and Cody Gakpo all left the pitch with complaints after the Reds were defeated 4-3 in extra time in the quarter-finals at Old Trafford. With the trio about to depart for international duty, the management is concerned about their fitness.

WHAT KLOPP SAID:

Klopp told BBC Sport: “Now the boys go on international duty. We hope they return healthy. Lucho [Diaz] felt his groin, Darwin hamstring, and Cody injured his ankle. They play again in four or five days, which is ridiculous. Hopefully, we’ll end the season in style.

He continued, “The boys sacrificed all. Our decision-making was not excellent. You must accept the result. “They deserve to advance to the next round.”

THE BIGGER PICTURE

Klopp is already dealing with a number of injury issues as the season nears its conclusion. Trent Alexander-Arnold, Diogo Jota, Alisson Becker, Ibrahima Konate, and Joel Matip are among the many Liverpool players who have been absent in recent weeks. Adding the three forward players will only increase their troubles in an already heated competition for the Premier League crown.

What’s next for Liverpool?

Klopp will hope his players are in good shape after the international break. With Liverpool tied on points with Arsenal at the top of the Premier League, the German cannot afford to lose any of his key players moving into the season’s final ten games.
