Ibrahima Konate has dropped out of contention for Liverpool’s FA Cup quarterfinal against Manchester United.

The Reds defender will miss his third game in a row after limping out in the second half of a 5-1 win over Sparta Prague in the Europa League last-16 first leg. Klopp had anticipated that Konate would return for the match against United after a 1-1 draw with Premier League title rivals Manchester City.

However, the Liverpool manager admitted at his pre-United press conference that Konate was unlikely to be available after missing Friday’s training session. However, the centre-back has been included to France’s squad for next week’s international break.

Konate is one of nine Liverpool players missing at Old Trafford. Klopp is hoping that Curtis Jones, Trent Alexander-Arnold, and Diogo Jota can return after the break. Stefan Bajcetic is also scheduled to return to team training. Alisson Becker, Thiago Alcantara, Joel Matip, and Ben Doak stay out.
