Liverpool has set its sights on two Bayern Munich talents, one of whom is valued at £100 million, according to recent sources.
The Reds are in for a busy summer, with Jurgen Klopp poised to leave at the conclusion of the season, everything will change at Anfield this summer.
Michael Edwards will be looking to strengthen Liverpool’s existing team, and a number of transfer candidates have already been identified.
According to Football Insider, the Reds are’very keen’ to sign Bayern Munich playmaker Jamal Musiala this summer.
The 21-year-old is one of Europe’s most exciting prospects, but his long-term future at the Allianz Arena remains uncertain.
His current contract is slated to end in 2026, and according to the latest sources, Musiala has turned down a new contract due to internal issues at Bayern.
According to the article, the German champions value the offensive midfielder at £100 million, but have ‘no intention’ of selling him in the summer.
According to TEAMtalk, Man City has also identified the Bayern Munich star as a player of interest. With 10 goals and six assists this season, it’s understandable why so many top clubs are interested.
Along with his strong goal contributions, Musiala averages 3.1 successful dribbles per game and produces an average of 1.6 opportunities.
Joshua Kimmich is another Liverpool target.
Along with Musiala, Liverpool is also keeping an eye on his teammate Kimmich. The 29-year-old defensive midfielder faces an unclear future in Germany, and the Reds may attempt a bold double swoop.
According to BILD’s Christian Falk, Edwards will try to sign Kimmich this summer, regardless of who replaces Jurgen Klopp.
Falk told BILD: “As is generally known, Jurgen Klopp is leaving Liverpool at the conclusion of the season, but this does not influence their plans to try to get Kimmich to Liverpool.
“So, they’ll keep going and nothing has changed just because Klopp is moving, Liverpool are very much following Kimmich’s career.”
The 29-year-old’s contract expires in 2025, and he may be available for as cheap as £25 million. Given his experience and pedigree at the highest level, that price appears to be a bargain.
At his peak, Kimmich is one of Europe’s top holding midfielders. While Wataru Endo has done an excellent job for Liverpool recently, Kimmich would be an apparent boost in this aspect.
