Fulham are planning a new contract offer for defender Tosin Adarabioyo, which could make him one of the club’s highest paid players.

The center-back’s current contract expires this summer, and he has been free to talk to overseas clubs since January. He has sparked interest from AC Milan and Marseille, as well as Liverpool, who have followed his growth.

Fulham are now hoping to persuade him to stay with an enticing deal.

The 26-year-old, who was open to leaving at the conclusion of the season, has been a consistent performer for Marco Silva this season despite the uncertainty surrounding his future, and his performances have put him on England boss Gareth Southgate’s radar.

Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite and Liverpool’s Joe Gomez were named in Thursday’s England squad for upcoming friendlies against Brazil and Belgium, but Adarabioyo’s stats have been on par with other leading English centre-backs despite only making 14 Premier League appearances after injury this season.

Earlier this month, Fulham manager Silva praised Adarabioyo’s contribution, saying, “In December, when it was really busy, he helped the team reach a really good level.” He is a really important player for us inside the football club.

‘He’s growing. He is a really good player and of course we always expect better things from him, and if he is going to be the case to go for the national team (then) even better, because it’s always the ambition of a football player.’
