TEAMtalk can exclusively reveal that Fulham are preparing to offer a new deal to star defender Tosin Adarabioyo, which will likely reduce their interest in Chelsea’s Trevoh Chalobah.

Fulham are eager to finalize their plans for the summer and aim to tie up a few loose ends before the transfer window opens.

Several of their players are nearing the end of their current contracts, including Adarabioyo, with whom they aim to reach an agreement.

The West London club has made a new record offer to the central defender, and talks over a new deal are underway to retain him at Craven Cottage.

The 26-year-old has been evaluating his options, but insiders believe Fulham’s current offer is exceptionally good, and there is growing confidence he will sign and stay with the club.

There has been a lot of interest in Adarabioyo’s talents, and a number of clubs in England and around Europe have inquired about a pre-contract agreement.

Marco Silva has been instrumental in the effort to keep Adarabioyo because he values him highly and has made it plain — both privately and publicly — that he wants to retain one of his key players.

According to sources, the Portuguese manager spoke with the English defender and explained his importance to the Cottagers.

Adarabioyo has established himself as an important member of Fulham’s squad after coming from Manchester City in 2020, appearing 14 times in the league this season after returning from injury in November.

Chalobah is willing to leave Chelsea for Fulham.

This development affects another West London defender, Chelsea’s 24-year-old centre back Chalobah.

Chalobah is on Fulham’s list of possible Adarabioyo replacements, but sources say a new contract for the former Manchester City player puts that move on hold.

The Chelsea defender is open to a move, and the club and his family have a solid relationship because his brother Nathaniel, who also represents him, is a former Fulham player.

Chalobah has only played five games for the Blues this season, having recovered from a long-term hamstring injury last month.

The atmosphere is now positive that Adarabioyo will sign a new long-term contract with Fulham and commit to spending at least next season there.

Nothing is done until the contract is signed, but the board and Marco Silva want it completed as quickly as possible.
