Liverpool welcomes Manchester City to Anfield today for another classic in what has unquestionably been the most intense Premier League rivalry of the last five years.

As befits the occasion, Sky Sports has none other than Roy Keane, Micah Richards, and Daniel Sturridge in the punditry box, with Keano and Richards already delivering one hilarious interaction in which Keane tried to calm down a rattled Micah, who had rode off into the sunset on a rant about Manchester City’s finances and rise from the lower leagues.

While Michah’s comments tonight fueled the fires, Liverpool’s Trent Alexander Arnold fueled the fires this week by declaring Liverpool’s trophies’mean more to us and our fanbase because of the position at both clubs, financially’.

Despite treble-winning Erling Haland’s retort, former Manchester City star Micah Richards saw it as his responsibility to launch a passionate defence of his former club in the Sky Sports studio, dismissing assertions that Man City’s wins are entirely the result of heavy investment.
Micah Richards spoke out in support of his former club today, praising their ‘GREAT MANAGER AND GREAT PLAYERS’.

With Micah visibly upset, the task of calming him down came to none other than Keane, who was quick to interfere, waving Micah back down to earth and chirping ‘Micah please, long day ahead’.
Micah Richard defended Trent Alexander by praising his demeanor, just before defending Manchester City and their progress from the lesser levels.
“To be honest, I enjoyed that; how many times do you see people say, ‘They’ve got no personality, they’re just like robots.’

Obviously, I disagree with Trent’s opinion, but it is his opinion, and there is nothing wrong with it.

People constantly say that Man City was only founded in 2008 when they received the investment, yet Man City was earning $20-30 thousand in the lesser leagues, they came from strong stock, and now they’re starting to win, which everyone wants to lump in. Yes, they have spent a lot of money, but they have a fantastic manager, great players, and have won the treble and the league several times.

While it’s all fun and games now, there’s still a lot to play for tonight evening with the Premier League’s top spot on the line.

If either club wins at Anfield today, three points will move them past Arsenal for first place.
