Liverpool has received some positive news ahead of tomorrow’s game against Sparta Prague.

The Reds will face the Czech club in the road leg of the Europa League last-16. Already dealing with a variety of fitness difficulties, fans will be hoping their fingers for more bad news during today’s open training session.

Ahead of today’s workout, there was some suspicion on social media that goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher had a fitness issue.

With Alisson Becker still out, Adrian would have been Liverpool’s only senior goalkeeper option.

Fortunately, according to a video by journalist Ian Doyle on X, these rumors proved out to be nothing more than that. Rumours. Kelleher was photographed jogging with his colleagues, seemed unconcerned about anything.

Kelleher puts to bed injury rumors

We don’t know how these things start sometimes. However, any news of a Liverpool player picking up a condition is sure to stir concern these days.

Without Alisson for an indefinite period of time, Kelleher is one of the Reds’ most essential players right now.

Caoimhin may not be a huge Brazilian, but he’s been in great form in recent weeks. Virgil van Dijk has long been a fan of the 25-year-old, describing him as ‘world class’ after his performance against Sheffield United in December.
Back then, few would have interpreted Van Dijk’s statements as anything other than steadfast support for a teammate. Even now, it seemed a little strong.

But three months after that evening at Brammall Lane, many others will see the light. Caoimhin Kelleher is undoubtedly an excellent goalie. So much so that following last month’s Carabao Cup final victory, Virgil repeated his ‘world class’ assessment. The skipper adores Caoimh.

That he’s now demonstrating exactly why following his first extended run of success should come as no surprise. For years, the Irishman has consistently delivered high-quality work.

If Liverpool wins more trophies this season, Kelleher will play a significant role.

With so many games now under his belt in 2023/24, it will be intriguing to see if Jurgen Klopp sticks with his No.2 for the duration of the Europa League.

However, after being spotted today, he will almost certainly play tomorrow.
