According to reports, Bayern Munich is on the verge of accepting a five-year contract offer, catching Liverpool off guard.

Bayern Munich and Liverpool are both vying to hire Xabi Alonso as their next manager. Thomas Tuchel and Jurgen Klopp will depart their respective positions at the end of the season. Tuchel may be fired early if Bayern fail to go past Lazio in the Champions League Round of 16.

At the moment, the signs point to Liverpool being the ones to reach an agreement for Alonso.

TEAMtalk has gathered that a three-year contract offer is on the table, and initial discussions between the Reds and Alonso’s side have been good.

Furthermore, Sky Germany said that Alonso has a’verbal promise’ with Bayer Leverkusen. The in-house agreement states that Alonso has freedom to leave the club THIS SUMMER if a good offer is received.

According to Sky Germany, in the lack of a release clause, Liverpool must pay between €15 million and €25 million to get Alonso out of Leverkusen.

However, while Liverpool appear to have beaten Bayern to Alonso, columnist Rudy Galetti says Bayern will sink Liverpool in a major transfer objective.

Will Klopp be denied his final transfer wish?
Back in October, German reporter Florian Plettenberg confirmed Liverpool’s interest in Schalke sensation Assan Ouedraogo.

This season, the 17-year-old has risen to prominence in the Bundesliga 2 and is a fixture for Germany’s Under-17 team.

Ouedraogo is a skillful and muscular center midfielder who, because to his 6ft 4in height, has received similarities to Paul Pogba.

Pogba’s late-career downturn, followed by a four-year drug ban, has tarnished his reputation.

However, it’s crucial to remember that Pogba was one of the world’s best central midfielders in his early career at Juventus, and he was a lock to start for a tremendously successful France team.

In October, a Sky Deutschland reporter stated that Liverpool, particularly Jurgen Klopp, is keeping an eye on Assan Ouedraogo’s growth.

“Schalke’s 17-year-old versatile midfielder has a 2024 release clause.” International clubs must pay approximately €20 million (£17 million).

But, according to Galetti on Monday, Bayern Munich will be the ones to sign Ouedraogo.

Bayern Munich is reportedly in negotiations with Ouedraogo about signing German Pogba.

“The Schalke central midfielder, whose contract expires in 2027, has received a five-year contract offer from Bayern and appears to be willing to accept.

“RB Leipzig and Eintracht Frankfurt are still interested in him, while no concrete move from Liverpool so far.”

It was unclear why Liverpool had not made their move. It’s possible that the Reds are no longer seriously interested in the player.

Alternatively, the upcoming departure of Klopp, who Plettenberg claimed was the driving cause behind Liverpool’s interest, could play a role.

Nonetheless, unless Liverpool acts swiftly, it appears Ouedraogo will be transferred to Munich.
