Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou has reportedly made his position plain regarding any interest in his services from other teams this summer, as Liverpool continues to be linked with the Australian as a potential replacement for Jurgen Klopp.

Numerous reports from throughout the UK and Postecoglou’s country claim that the former Celtic manager is firmly in the running to succeed the Liverpool great when he steps down at the end of the current season.

The 58-year-old, who previously acknowledged in an interview that he is a Liverpool fan, has improved his reputation following a successful debut Premier League season in which he oversaw a significant resurgence at Tottenham.

In addition to Spurs’ reemergence as a significant top-four contender, Postecoglou has radically altered the manner of play in north London, putting an end to the laboured, boring football frequently dished up by his predecessor Antonio Conte.

That dynamic brand of football has certainly impressed Anfield officials, yet Xabi Alonso remains the heavy favourite to return to Merseyside and assume his place in the Anfield dugout.

However, while no definite plans have been announced for the Spaniard to succeed Klopp, speculation about other managers will undoubtedly continue.

However, according to Football Insider, Postecoglou is now completely out of the running.

They claim that the pleasant Australian has no plans to leave Tottenham this summer for Liverpool or any other team.

According to the source, Postecoglou is ‘glad and comfortable’ in north London and appreciates the support he has had since taking over, as well as the opportunity to put his stamp on the world’s greatest league.

Postecoglou totally invested in the Tottenham project.
Postecoglou is completely committed to the Spurs project and wants to build on what he has begun there rather than leaving for a new opportunity.

According to Football Insider, Daniel Levy would not even consider any large-scale remuneration proposals for their manager, given the influence Postecoglou has already had on the club in his short tenure.

Tottenham are now ranked fifth in the Premier League, which could be enough to qualify for an expanded Champions League next season. However, Postecoglou wants to finish fourth in his first season in charge as a statement of intent for future seasons.

He has won 15 of his 26 league games in charge this season, despite being hindered for much of the campaign by important player injuries and bans.

The fact that he is willing to turn down any offers for his services is undoubtedly great news for Tottenham fans, but it leaves Liverpool with the majority of their eggs in Alonso’s basket, hoping he chooses a return to Anfield over potential moves to Bayern Munich or Barcelona.
