The Toronto Maple Leafs have a lot of roster issues.

The Toronto Maple Leafs require a starting goaltender because none of their three current goalies are a viable option to lead the team to the playoffs.

They also need assistance with their blue-line, which is simply bad. Their primary requirement is a puck mover or two, but adding some meanness would also be beneficial.

The Leafs also need a third-line centre and possibly a scoring winger.

Can they obtain all of these stuff? No, they probably can’t.

However, when you consider the Leafs’ poor season to date, the potential financial room they may have, the fact that they are supposed to be interested in every single player rumored to be available, and their numerous needs, the Trade Deadline is shaping up to be the most interesting in years.

The only problem?

Ol’ Brad does not appear to be up to the job. Nothing he’s done since being hired by Brendan Shanahan instills confidence. And ignoring Simon Benoit and Martin Jones (*for approximately a week) does not count.

So far, Treliving has demonstrated himself to be a name-brand seeking, anti-analytics, interchangable with 90% of other GMs type of guy. He’s the only GM in the league with two underperforming teams this season, and the nicest thing you can say about his stay thus far is that it’s likely to be brief.

But maybe not; we’ll see how he goes over the following month. With that stated, here is a long list of players that may be available, should be available, or who I wish were available, as well as my thoughts on them as trade options for the Toronto Maple Leafs.
