Liverpool will play Nottingham Forest this Saturday in the Premier League after a week of cup victories.

Jurgen Klopp’s team has an opportunity to put pressure on their closest competitors in the title race because Manchester City and Arsenal don’t play until later in the weekend. This is especially true given that their matchup with City is approaching quickly.

Alisson, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Curtis Jones, and several other first-team regulars are unlikely to be available until at least the middle of next month, meaning Liverpool will likely be without a plethora of players again.

But “Klopp’s Kids” have proven they are capable of performing when called upon; in recent games, the academy and second string have exc

elled.

17th position Even if Forest is struggling, the Reds have (rather amazingly) never won at the City Ground in the Premier League.

Liverpool lost 1-0 to Forest on the road the previous season, so they’ll be cautious not to let complacency get in the way of a repeat of that mistake.

This is how Klopp might set up his team for this match

Caoimhin Kelleher is having a great time playing for the team. He has recorded back-to-back clean sheets and another valiant cup final performance. He’ll carry on without Alisson.

In an apparent attempt to keep both players reasonably fresh for the weekend’s trip to Forest, Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate played half each on Wednesday night at Anfield. Taiwo Awoniyi, a former player for Liverpool, might be their opponent up front for the hosts.
