Mason Greenwood’s impassioned response to Sir Jim Ratcliffe opening the door for Manchester United’s return.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe has explored the possibility of Mason Greenwood returning to Manchester United following his loan spell with Spanish side Getafe, and the forward has now offered his thoughts.
Mason Greenwood has ‘no desire’ to play for Manchester United again, despite Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s suggestion that he would return.

The Red Devils academy graduate is now on loan with Spanish side Getafe. The Crown Prosecution Service dropped allegations of attempted rape, engaging in controlling and coercive behaviour, and assault occasioning actual bodily harm, thus United sent him out on a temporary basis.

Ratcliffe, the club’s new minority owner, has hinted that the club could consider bringing the forward back to Old Trafford. However, the striker does not appear to be interested.

According to The Athletic, Greenwood would be’reluctant’ to return to Manchester. According to reports, he believes the club should have done more to help him and has no desire to play for the Red Devils again.

“He’s a Manchester United player, so we’re in charge of football.”So the answer is, “Yes, we need to make decisions.” It’s evident that we need to make a decision.

“No decision has been taken. He’s definitely on loan, but he isn’t the only one. We have one or two footballers to deal with and make a choice on, therefore we will do so.

“The process will be to grasp the facts, not the hype, and then try to make a fair choice based on values, which is essentially whether he is a good guy or not. Could he play truly for Manchester United, would we and the fans be okay with it?”

Greenwood’s contract with Manchester United lasts until the summer of 2025. He has already been linked with a permanent move to Spain, with Barcelona surfacing as possible suitors for his services.

Greenwood has five goals and as many assists in 22 games for Getafe. He will look to add to that record this weekend when Getafe faces Las Palmas.
