An Oilers-Related New Name on Defense Before the Trade Deadline
The Columbus Blue Jackets are open to calls on defenseman Ivan Provorov, according to The Fourth Period. The Tampa Bay Lightning and Edmonton Oilers might be interested, they write, adding that “the Blue Jackets could retain part of Provorov’s remaining contract to help maximize their return and also assist cap-strapped teams.” This is the first time his name has been used in relation to Edmonton, and it’s an intriguing report.
