Joao Palhinha, a Fulham midfielder, is apparently still wanted by Liverpool, Arsenal, and Chelsea.

The Cottagers fended off interest from Wolverhampton Wanderers in the summer of 2022 to sign the Sporting Lisbon player.

The Portugal international’s reputation was already well-established, but his plays in the middle of the pitch have only served to strengthen it.

After making 35 Premier League games in 2022–2023 and making an impression, Bayern Munich became impressed and were close to signing Palhinha at the end of the summer transfer window in 2023.

Nevertheless, Palhinha signed new terms two weeks later despite the Bundesliga giants missing the deadline to complete a transaction, which forced him to return to Craven Cottage unhappy.

Palhinha’s contract with Fulham expires in2028, although vice-chairman Tony Khan recently stated that “sensible offers” for the 28-year-old will be taken into consideration at the end of the current campaign.

Football Insider claims that Bayern is keeping an eye on the matter even though they will be under new management in 2024–2025.

However, the source also states that Chelsea, Arsenal, and Liverpool are all debating whether to submit a formal offer for Palhinha.

Liverpool, the league leaders and recent EFL Cup winners, were said to be interested in Moises Caicedo in the summer, but they ultimately decided to concentrate their efforts elsewhere after bringing in Wataru Endo.

Although the Japan international has surprised everyone, Liverpool would still benefit from having him physically closer to the engine room.

Due to their expiring contracts at the end of the current campaign, Jorginho and Mohamed Elneny may put Arsenal in a position where they need reinforcements.

Palhinha would be a good addition to Chelsea’s midfield to support players like Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez, who both need more physically commanding players.

After being delighted to pay £50 million for Palhinha last September, Bayern is willing to rekindle their interest in the player if he is available for “the right price”.
