After Chelsea’s Wembley defeat to Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool, Jamie Redknapp has singled out a specific defender for the loss.
Jamie Redknapp has blamed one Chelsea player for their excruciating loss to Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final, which occurred in the last seconds.

Important Liverpool players like as Trent Alexander-Arnold, Dominik Szoboszlai, Diogo Jota, Alisson Becker, and Mo Salah were all absent prior to the encounter.

Ryan Gravenberch had to be stretchered off after a horrific challenge from Moises Caicedo, exacerbating Jurgen Klopp’s injury woes early on.

Chelsea had countless chances to win the game but were unable to capitalise on Liverpool’s inexperience, and Pochettino’s side was eventually punished in the 118th minute when Virgil Van Dijk headed home.

After the game, in the Sky Sports Studio, Redknapp decided to hold Chelsea defender Axel Disasi accountable for the defeat.

“Disasi is a big man, and Van Dijk gets away from him, but he didn’t handle him properly. Redknapp told the studio that Virgil didn’t move well, but he just wanted it more.

Disasi, who cost Chelsea over £40 million to sign from Monaco, was one of the major summer recruits.

Tsimikas provided the flat item perfectly and simply asked for it. The former Liverpool player stated that this is occasionally achievable at set pieces.

“Maybe because Chelsea has won so many, there’s a sense of dread there, but they couldn’t get near enough to Virgil before panic set in. It makes a beautiful header, and he simply flicks it in.

Redknapp also showered respect on Liverpool’s retiring manager, who, despite the absence of his key players, won the first of four trophies available.

“Some of these guys need to get up early for school! However, they’re all buying into it, which is a tremendous achievement,” Redknapp said.

“Everything that occurs happens. It does not change my opinion of Jurgen Klopp.

“If they go and win four trophies or just this one, it’s still an incredible thing he’s done for this club, this community and fans around the world.”
