Boston Bruins Defenseman Out Week-To-WeekThe Boston Bruins announced today that defenseman Hampus Lindholm will be absent for a week due to a lower-body ailment. He did not accompany the squad on their road trip. Lindholm suffered an injury in the game against Dallas before the road trip.

Since then, the Bruins have made several roster changes, including calling up defenseman Mason Lohrei from the AHL Providence Bruins. Lohrei will be in the lineup with Brandon Carlo when the Bruins face the Oilers on Wednesday evening. Lohrei has appeared in 27 games for Boston this season, scoring three goals and providing three assists. When questioned about Lohrei’s contributions to the team, head coach Jim Montgomery stated the following:

“Both times he’s come up and played for us from Providence, he’s been really good. Our expectations are based on what we know about him: he is a good hockey player. He’s helped us win a lot of hockey games this season, and we anticipate him to do so again.”

With a four-game road trip ahead of the Bruins, Lohrei will once again get the opportunity to shine with the Bruins and earn a spot on this roster down the stretch.
