Despite losing important players to injury in recent weeks, Matty Cash maintains that Aston Villa is enjoying the challenge of qualifying for the Champions League in the last three months of the season.

After Tottenham’s home loss to Wolves, Unai Emery’s team defeated Fulham 2-1 at Craven Cottage on Saturday afternoon to move back into the top four. Villa Park will welcome Nottingham Forest on Saturday with the goal of pulling five points ahead of Spurs. Ange Postecoglou’s team will not play the following weekend since Chelsea is playing in the Carabao Cup final.

After losing three players to injuries in the previous two weeks, Villa was greatly boosted by their victory over Fulham. Before Boubacar Kamara suffered a season-ending injury in the loss to fellow Champions League contenders Manchester United, Ezri Konsa suffered a sprained knee against Sheffield United. Before the match against Fulham, Diego Carlos then had a hamstring injury during practice.

After the victory at Craven Cottage, Cash said, “Losing Bouba was obviously a massive blow, losing Diego was big, especially coming into this game which we knew was going to be tough.” “However, we proved to be tough and resilient. It was good that Ollie finished it up for us. It’s an amazing victory. It’s great that teams don’t find this place easy.
