Pablo Zabaleta traveled to see Armando Broja, but his journey to witness Fulham vs. Aston Villa was a waste.

After defeating Bournemouth, Fulham was looking to win two straight at home against Villa. Ollie Watkins’ brace gave Villa a 2-0 lead before Rodrigo Muniz’s goal kept them in the game, but Marco Silva’s team was unable to find a way to draw level, and Villa won 2-1 at Craven Cottage. It was a frustrating afternoon in West London. Pablo Zabaleta, the Premier League title winner, wasted his journey. The Argentinean was spotted in the stands at Craven Cottage during Saturday’s game. He was seated next to former Arsenal defender Sylvinho, an arrangement that may have raised eyebrows. However, the two now work together.

Pablo Zabaleta’s trip was a waste

Zabaleta, a former Manchester City player, was seen watching the game on Saturday from the Craven Cottage stands.

The Argentine was seated next to former Arsenal defender Sylvinho in a combination that might have caused some people to take notice.

However, Zabaleta is now Sylvinho’s assistant with the Albanian national team, therefore the two genuinely collaborate.

So, it is evident why they traveled; they were there to witness Armando Broja of Fulham, the striker.

After choosing Albania over England, Broja has already scored four goals in 17 appearances for the country.

After the 22-year-old moved on loan from Chelsea, Sylvinho and Zabaleta wanted to see how he was doing. Broja chose to represent his parents, who are from Albania.

They were let down, though, because Broja didn’t even start against Villa on the bench.

Due to a sickness, Broja was unable to participate at all, depriving Sylvinho and Zabaleta of the opportunity to watch him play.

In March, Albania will play Sweden and Chile; if available, Broja will undoubtedly be called up.

However, with Muniz in such outstanding form, first-team opportunities are scarce at the moment.

Perhaps Sylvinho and Zabaleta will return to Craven Cottage in the near future, but watching Broja lose out will undoubtedly leave them disappointed.
