Greetings and welcome to NHL Rumors again! Now that the second half of the season has begun, everything is at full steam. Now that the playoff race has begun, teams will start to assess their position. The pyrotechnics will go off sooner rather than later because the trade deadline is in less than a month. We’re concentrating on the Edmonton Oilers and Boston Bruins today.

NHL Boston Bruins Rumors

Rumor: The Fourth Period mentions Noah Hanifin’s affiliation with the Boston Bruins

Don Sweeney’s fondness for defenseman Noah Hanifin is well known. In 2015, Sweeney was considering drafting this player, but he was unable to generate enough momentum to move up. Hanifin has continued to be associated with Boston up until this deadline ever since.

It’s worth noting that the Bruins appear unafraid to make the headline-grabbing move this deadline. Although an extension could not be agreed upon, they were the team that was in the running for center Elias Lindholm. Such a move was previously done by Sweeney when he acquired Hampus Lindholm from the Anaheim Ducks, along with an extension.

Boston’s resources are scarce by this deadline. It will be difficult for them to pull off a major move in the next draft because they are without their first three picks. Teams are aware of Hanifin’s potential open market preferences, which may complicate matters further for general managers.

Derek Forbort and Matt Grzelcyk both have contracts that expire with Boston.

Okay. Hanifin is a player who could easily move up to the top four, probably alongside Charlie McAvoy. How such a deal may be made is still to be seen.

Edmonton Oilers Rumor: Adam Henrique and the Oilers are connected in the Fourth Period. We go west with the next set of NHL Rumors. The Edmonton Oilers are among the league’s most well-known franchises. They have risen substantially in the rankings and are now in playoff position following the coaching change. This is the perfect moment to add, if there ever was one. The team has been linked to a player down the middle, but there have been rumors that they are aiming for top six scoring.

With Lindholm and Sean Monahan out of the picture, the center market is becoming more sparse. Adam Henrique is one name that will definitely be in high demand. Henrique is a flexible player who provides consistency to the team by playing both center and flankarray. Not only is he tied for second place in goals (15) and third place in points (35), but he is also enjoying a fantastic season with the Ducks. Furthermore, he has excelled in the faceoff circle, winning 53.6% of his draws.

The best players on the team are performing at their highest level. In addition to providing the Oilers with an extra line that can contribute offensively, Henrique adds depth and steadiness. This is the year that Ken Holland should be assertive, if there ever was one..
