Coach Dan Campbell of the Detroit Lions encouraged the whole squad to watch this year’s Super Bowl, according to Alex Anzalone.

Even though the Lions players are still clearly hurting from their loss to the San Francisco 49ers, Campbell thought that seeing the complete game could inspire them for the upcoming campaign.

Campbell responded, “No, you gotta watch it, man,” according to Anzalone. Make the most of every moment as inspiration. Without a doubt, I’ll be observing.

Did the players pay attention then? Uncertainty surrounds who of them tweeted live during the 49ers’ 25-22 overtime loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. Here are some of their responses, beginning with Anzalone, who obviously heeded Campbell’s counsel and found it difficult to get through it.

Ngl, this is difficult.

Gardner-Johnson, though, was astounded by Patrick Mahomes’ late takeover of the game, just like everyone else watching.

Patty in that manner!

For Lions supporters, the red and yellow confetti dropping created a bittersweet atmosphere. The 49ers, the club that avoided murder in the NFC Championship Game, on the one hand, lost. However, the Lions defeated the Super Bowl Champions in Week 1 and it is likely that they would have had another opportunity to do so on Super Bowl Sunday.

As usual, Kerby Joseph provided a fitting meme to round off the evening.
