D’ Cowboys Interviewed 2 Former Head Coaches This Week
Throughout the 2023 NFL regular season, the Dallas Cowboys were regarded as one of the league’s greatest all-around football teams, as the squad could perform on both sides of the ball, with Dak Prescott directing the offense and Micah Parsons performing defensively.
Unfortunately, despite securing the NFC’s second seed and appearing to be a serious Super Bowl title candidate entering the NFL playoffs, the Cowboys struggled in the postseason.
The upstart Green Bay Packers, headed by promising young quarterback Jordan Love, trounced the Cowboys in the first round of the playoffs, causing Dallas’ season to end considerably sooner than expected and prompting some coaching changes.
Although many assumed that head coach Mike McCarthy was on the hot seat due to the organization’s need for a new head coach, defensive coordinator Dan Quinn elected to depart the team to become the head coach of the division-rival Washington Commanders.
With Quinn leaving a significant gap as defensive coordinator, Jerry Jones and company are looking for the next in line to lead this unit, with former head coaches Ron Rivera and Mike Zimmer interviewing for the position this week, according to ProFootballTalk.

Obviously, both coaches have tremendous NFL experience and would be an excellent addition to McCarthy’s coaching staff moving forward, especially with the number of talented defensive players.
It will be intriguing to see what the Cowboys do here, as well as whether Rivera or Zimmer receive the job as Quinn’s successor in Dallas.
