The Detroit Lions recently finished their most successful season in at least 30 years, and owner Sheila Hamp expressed gratitude in an email issued to season ticket holders on Monday.

Much like general manager Brad Holmes, who proclaimed Lions fans “the best fan base in the world” on Monday, Hamp was taken aback by the support she received from Lions fans in 2023. The season was highlighted by record-breaking loudness at Ford Field and extraordinary attendance at away games.

“To see the Honolulu Blue wave that swelled throughout the season and playoffs – specifically in San Francisco – was inspiring and humbling,” he added. “I know our players felt it on the field, and I can tell you firsthand that I did! Every ‘Jared Goff’ and ‘Let’s Go Lions’ chant that rang over Ford Field and visiting stadiums was incredible.

“I’ve adored this team since I was a little child, and I take great pride in being a Lions supporter. Today, that pride overflows.”

In addition to expressing gratitude to the fans, Hamp reiterated her entire support for general manager Brad Holmes and coach Dan Campbell, as she had since the hirings three years ago.

“When I took on this role three years ago, I envisioned long-term success. The success of this season exemplifies that vision,” Hamp concluded. “Now we must work to make late January football a fixture in Detroit. The Detroit Lions’ future has never looked better, thanks to Brad Holmes and Dan Campbell, who we handpicked for this task. I said in January of 2021 that we had identified the proper people to manage this company, and I believe it much more now.”
