The Detroit Lions will have five representatives at the 2023 Pro Bowl games in Orlando, which begin on Thursday, February 1. Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs, wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown, tight end Sam LaPorta, offensive tackle Penei Sewell, and edge defender Aidan Hutchinson will all put on different demonstrations of strength, speed, and athleticism.

Note: Frank Ragnow and Jalen Reeves-Maybin have withdrawn from the Pro Bowl, and Jared Goff declined an invitation.

The NFL announced each of the events that will take place over Pro Bowl weekend, as well as the persons who will participate in each.

Thursday, February 1—airing on ESPN from 7-8:30 p.m. ET
High-Stakes Event:

With two footballs in hand, players will try to catch “punts” from the JUGS machine.

Lions competitors include TE Sam LaPorta.

Dodgeball

A multiple-round event. The AFC offense will go up against the NFC defense, and vice versa.

Lions competitors include RB Jahmyr Gibbs and WR Amon-Ra St. Brown.

Events without Lions participants include best catch, precise passing, closest to the pin, and snap shots (long snapping).

Sunday, February 4 — ABC/ESPN, 3-6 p.m. ET.
Move the chains.

A strength competition in which a team of five players must push 3,000 pounds of weight off a wall while also pulling a 2,000-pound wall across the finish line.

Lions’ competitors: OT Penei Sewell

Gridiron Gauntlet
A relay race/obstacle course including four teams of six players apiece.

Lions’ competitors: OT Penei Sewell; EDGE Aidan Hutchinson

Tug of War
A five-on-five display of strength. Four teams (two per conference)

Flag football

Lions contestants include EDGE Aidan Hutchinson.

Lions’ flag football competitors include RB Jahmyr Gibbs, WR Amon-Ra St. Brown, and TE Sam LaPorta.

Event without Lions competitors: Madden Head-to-Head, Kick Tac Toe.
