Nine years after being named Brendan Rodgers’ replacement at Anfield, Klopp, 56, has revealed that he will step down as Liverpool’s manager at the end of the current season.

Liverpool was shocked to learn that its great manager would be stepping down, but they managed to turn their attention back to the game in the last several days, winning over Chelsea and Norwich City.

Currently, the team has won each of its seven 2024 matches.

After a dismal season the previous year, the Reds are still in the running for all four competitions this year as they try to send Klopp packing with as many trophies as they can.

Speaking in his farewell interview, the former manager of Mainz 05 and Borussia Dortmund intends to go away from management for at least a year after his tenure at Liverpool ends.

“I’ll find another thing to do. However, I refuse to lead a team or a nation for a minimum of a year,” he stated on the official Liverpool website.

After a busy few years on Merseyside, Klopp is about to embark on a lengthy vacation. Having spent the Premier League winter break in Dubai, he has already had a taste of what life will be like in the near future.

Three football enthusiasts approached Klopp while he was out, all of them wanting to take a picture with the German.

One was a supporter of Bolton Wanderers who asked if he would permit full-back Conor Bradley to rejoin the team on loan. The other two in attendance were, respectively, Burnley and Manchester United supporters.

Upon discovering that the latter was a supporter of Liverpool’s opponents, Klopp promptly took out a Liverpool cap for the photographer to wear.
