Despite a hectic time of departures, Manchester United appears likely to end the transfer window without adding any new players.

Fabrizio Romano, an incredibly trustworthy Italian sports journalist, has stated that “as of now, United are staying with the same squad – the plan is quite clear.”

Speaking at his daily briefing, Romano said that United’s current strategy is to retain everyone else, including Amad Diallo, and loan out Facundo Pellistri, which the team has now verified has been done.

But what will interest United supporters more is the news that, in spite of all the links over the past month, the team will not be trying to sign a striker.

Serhou Guirassy of Stuttgart was a name that was frequently mentioned leading up to the window, but no team, not even United, ever made a bid for him.

“I’m hearing about fresh reports on the future of Serhou Guirassy, but from what I understand, the Stuttgart striker’s release clause has now expired,” Romano remarked.

“The player is staying at Stuttgart and the clause is no longer valid, so if Chelsea or Manchester United wanted to move for him now, it would be almost impossible.”

The football transfer specialist did not, however, essentially rule out a summer transfer when he said, “The stories of the last 24 hours are not going in the right direction.” I’m not anticipating any movement. Numerous teams were interested in signing him, but Stuttgart did a superb job of persuading him to stay until the right time in the summer to depart.

The sports writer added that nothing will happen in the last few minutes of the window, even though further attacking alternatives have been connected to the Old Trafford team.

“Man United has received several offers up front, but although nothing is happening right now, names like Eric Choupo-Moting and Hugo Ekitike—who is still available and can leave Paris Saint-Germain—have been linked.”

Numerous reports have stated that INEOS was unprepared to spend this winter because of problems with Financial Fair Play and because the Premier League has not yet approved their agreement.

The news of Anthony Martial’s 10-week layoff will certainly frustrate United supporters, who will also be disappointed that no attacking options have been brought in to support Rasmus Hojlund. Still, anticipation of a massive summer window for INEOS will keep supporters happy until the end of the season.
