Following the devastating loss of the Detroit Lions in the NFC Championship game on Monday morning, Tom Pelissero revealed that offensive coordinator Ben Johnson and defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn will be interviewing later this week for head coaching positions.
Johnson is scheduled to interview with the Seattle Seahawks in Detroit later on Monday, according to Pelissero. The Washington Commanders are then scheduled to interrogate Glenn and Johnson on Tuesday.
In this year’s NFL coaching carousel, the Commanders and Seahawks are the two teams still seeking a head coach. Pelissero notes that most of the candidates are no longer in the running for the playoffs, thus it’s quite possible that the final coaching appointments will be announced before the end of the week.
Pelissero stated, “That might be the last head coaching interview for this cycle.” Now, all those men are qualified for an immediate hire here. There’s a significant probability that these searches will be completed by the end of the week, if not sooner.
