The journey to Super Bowl LVIII travels via Levi’s® Stadium. The NFC Championship Game between the San Francisco 49ers and the Detroit Lions on Sunday will determine who plays on the grandest platform in professional football.

San Francisco will be making its fourth trip to the conference title game in the previous five seasons when it plays in the NFC Championship. There have only ever been two postseason meetings between the 49ers and Lions, and the first one took place before the 1970 AFL-NFL merger. The 1983 season saw their most recent meeting. The 49ers moved on to the NFC Championship Game against Washington after defeating the Lions 24–23.

Here are some things to watch for at Levi’s® Stadium during the NFC Championship Game:

Honorary Captain For the NFC Championship Game, San Francisco will be led by the legendary Joe Montana of the 49ers. Barry Sanders, a Hall of Fame running back, will play for the Detroit Lions, his former team.

When kickoff approaches, arrive at Levi’s® Stadium early to witness Montana and team writer Lindsey Pallares dissect the 49ers “Tickets to Victory,” presented by Ticketmaster.
