With the Atlanta Falcons selecting DC Aaron Glenn and OC Ben Johnson of the Detroit Lions, there are now just two openings left on the NFL coaching rotation.
The Rams defensive coordinator Raheem Morris has allegedly agreed to join the Atlanta Falcons as their new head coach, making just the Commanders and Seahawks head coaching positions open.

Given that both defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn and offensive coordinator Ben Johnson were contenders to join the Falcons, this is a crucial domino to fall for the Detroit Lions. Actually, Johnson and Glenn were allegedly asked to be interviewed again—in person this time—by Atlanta, according to ESPN’s Mike Rothstein. But that never happened before Morris was surrounded by the Falcons.

But the Lions are still very much in the woods. Regardless of whether the Lions make it to the Super Bowl or not, Glenn and Johnson are both strong contenders for the Commander position, and they are both scheduled to have in-person interviews in Detroit at some point next week. Particularly, since Johnson has been the front-runner since the start of the search, there are a lot of rumors regarding his chances of being hired as the Commander.

Nevertheless, Texans offensive coordinator Bobby Slowik has already conducted two interviews with Washington, while Cowboys defensive coordinator Dan Quinn has already set up a third session with the Commanders.

Although the Seahawks’ coaching search hasn’t been particularly active thus far, Johnson supposedly had a virtual interview with the team last weekend. Glenn has not been the subject of any reported interest.

The Seahawks and Commanders are anticipated to postpone making their hiring decisions until at least next week, according to Adam Schefter.
