(KYMA/KECY, NBC) – One 49ers football player comes from a divided household. Kicker Jake Moody of the San Francisco 49ers was born in Michigan and raised by Detroit Lions supporters.
Moody’s parents, Chad and Lisa, offer their thoughts on the big game ahead of Sunday’s match between their club and the Lions, which may mean a trip to the Super Bowl.
Chad remarked, “Well, I’ve been a Lions fan pretty much since birth.”
According to Chad, in the 1970s, his parents took him to a Lions training camp. However, since his kid ended up signing a contract with the 49ers, this is undoubtedly a split household in every football sense.
Lisa reports that last summer, Chad called with this problem.
“You are aware of what will occur. This year’s Super Bowl matchup between the 49ers and Lions will determine who advances. “You just wait and see,” I said. It’s just going to happen,” said Chad.

In the home office, beside their son’s Michigan helmet, they have an autographed Lions helmet from Jason Hanson, along with his plaques and prizes for being the Best Big 10 Kicker.
Alumni of Michigan State Although Lisa is a Lions fan as well, a photo of her son says it all.
“I will undoubtedly support my son whenever he plays against a team. Similarly, I had to deal with Michigan and Michigan State. That was alright with me,” Lisa said.
It’s difficult. We’re going to support the 49ers, after all. Our son is the team player,” said Chad.
Talking things out
Nonetheless, it appears that a negotiation took place. Lisa is a teacher in the district of Livonia.
“In football, the boys are superior…I kind of told them, “Well, how about you root for the Lions, but not so that Jake misses his kicks?” because I wanted my son to lose. They therefore concluded that was reasonable,” Lisa continued.
“If the 49ers do happen to lose, I’ll be breaking out my Lions gear for the Super Bowl, of course,” said Chad.
On Sunday at 4:30 p.m. MT on FOX, the San Francisco 49ers and the Detroit Lions will play in the NFC Championship Game.
