FOX 2 DETROIT – Are you among the fortunate supporters who have tickets to this weekend’s Detroit Lions vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers game? Before you stand in the freezing line to enter Ford Field, be sure you know what is and isn’t permitted there.

The stadium has a lengthy list of goods that will get you turned away at the door, and the NFL has a bag policy that restricts the size and kinds of bags that can be taken in.

Before you travel, consider the following:
Baggage regulations
PVC, vinyl, and clear plastic bags are acceptable; however, they must not exceed 12 inches by 6 inches by 12 inches in size.

Plastic freezer bags that hold one gallon are also accepted.

Clutches, binocular cases, and camera cases that are no larger than 4.5 by 6.5 inches are the only non-clear bags that are permitted.

Medical supplies including breast pumps, insulin, portable oxygen, and tiny soft-pack coolers are exempt.

Things that are permitted within Ford Field

essential medical supplies, such as breast pumps, insulin, prescription drugs, portable oxygen, and compact cooler packs
With a child, infant supplies (bottles, formula) in a transparent bag are permitted. According to the NFL Bag Policy, diaper bags are not permitted.
tiny radios (which require the use of headphones or small earpiece)
Compact and tiny umbrellas only. Has to be tucked beneath the seat firmly.
Portable signage and posters without sticks or poles. Cannot obstruct the view of another visitor.
signage or apparel that runs on batteries, provided they pass a rigorous examination. Wires and loose batteries are not permitted.
helmets for football. It is forbidden to use modified helmets with spikes or any other object that can be used as a weapon.Tablets: Kindles, iPads, and so forth It is not appropriate to show inappropriate content or obstruct the view of another visitor.
The size of the seat cushions must not exceed 15″ by 15″ and they cannot have arm rests, pockets, flaps, zippers, or metal backs.

Items prohibited from entering Ford Field

You can be asked to return any forbidden items to your car or have them seized if you attempt to enter Ford Field with them.

Items that are prohibited include:

Anything that is not clear: purses that are bigger than a clutch bag, briefcases, coolers, backpacks, book bags, diaper bags, shopping and paper bags, duffle bags, computer bags, or any type of luggage.

Cans of aerosol (hairspray, pepper spray, mace, etc.)
Pets (apart from approved service animals used to assist visitors with disabilities)
balloons, helium or air
Footballs, beach balls, and other balls
Large flags or banners
Lenses for cameras longer than five inches
chairs, such as stools or foldable chairs
Stickers, confetti, glitter, or decals
Unmanned aerial vehicles and/or piloted aircraft

Laptop computers, video recorders, tripods, and wearable cameras like Go Pros are examples of electronic equipment.
Sparklers and flashlights
Food, drinks, or liquids (such as buckets of popcorn, cans, bottles, water bottles, flasks, cups, boxes, etc.)
Items or supplies meant for unapproved trade, promotion, exchange, or giveaway
illicit drugs
Box cutters, scissors, pocket knives, etc.
Pointers with lasers

Cannabis, including electronic devices that are medically prescribed, paraphernalia connected to the use of illegal drugs or marijuana, and accessories.
Permanent markers and/or paint
Devices for creating noise, such as whistles, kazoos, bells, and horns
Things that have the potential to be projectiles or missiles, such as Frisbees, clubs, poles, rods, and bats
offensive, vulgar, political, or commercial slogans or pictures on garments and signs that are repulsive or lewd
Selfie sticks
Infant car seats or carriers, together with strollers
umbrellas (big ones)
Weapons: brass knuckles, tasers, chemical sprays, pistols, etc.wrapped presents.
