The Los Angeles Rams had to wait hours tqo get home following several flight delays following a devastating one-point loss to the Detroit Lions on the road, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

The Rams were unable to get a break. Rather than leaving Detroit right away following the loss, the squad was forced to suffer defeat on the tarmac and didn’t arrive home until Monday morning.

“Not that they needed it after a tough playoff loss to the Lions, but the Rams JUST landed from their flight from Detroit after plane issues and hours and hours of delays,” Rapoport tweeted just before noon Monday, nearly 12 hours after the Rams game completed. Not perfect, Rapoport continued.

I suppose that when it rains, it pours. Though not quite so literally in this instance, the extremely cold weather in Detroit could have had a role in the “plane issues.” On Sunday night, the city had a low of just 1 degree Fahrenheit. The Rams are currently sitting on a chilly tarmac for hours, reflecting on how close they were to being the champions, after being eliminated from the playoffs in a game they lost by a mere one point. Talk about brutal.
