Fans of the Philadelphia Eagles are not having a happy end to 2023. In Week 17, the Eagles were stunned by the Arizona Cardinals. They are now 11-5, tied with the Dallas Cowboys, heading into Week 18. If both teams win next week, the Cowboys will win the NFC East since they have a better conference record.

Some Eagles fans believe the NFL aided the Cowboys’ ascension to the NFC East lead and second place by enabling Dallas to upset the Detroit Lions on a contentious call on Saturday. (Though the Eagles’ loss to Arizona didn’t help matters.)

With 23 seconds left in the fourth quarter and the Cowboys leading 21-20, the Lions were denied a two-point convert. An official erroneously reported a Detroit offensive tackle as an eligible wide receiver, resulting in a penalty that cost the Lions two game-winning scores.

After the loss against the Cowboys, Lions players, coaches, and supporters were furious. The loss cost them the NFC’s second seed.

Philadelphia Eagles fans are outraged that the NFL is assisting Dallas.

NFL has never looked this scripted. Cowboys won on a VERY bad call last night. VERY bad. And now the eagles lose on some questionable calls. They heavily interfered with Goedert on that last drive. And now the cowboys win the division. Shady stuff by the NFL.
