GOOD ON TYRON DEC 28 The FINAL Practice and Game Status Report for the Dallas vs. Lions game contains encouraging news at left tackle.

Tyron Smith (back) gets promoted to “questionable.” He is scheduled to play against the visiting Lions on Saturday night.

Meanwhile. Johnathan Hankins and Rico Dowdle have been released.

O-LINE CONCERNS ON DEC 27 All of this contributes to Matt Waletzko’s recent activation from injured reserve to the 53-man roster.

The Practice Injury Report is out as Dallas prepares for a Saturday night visit from the Detroit Lions. And three Cowboys offensive linemen are on the list.

Tyron Smith is a non-starter. As he works through his back problem, this comes as no surprise.

Zack Martin is given a DNP. Even though he’s battling with quad tightness, hopefully that’s just a rest day.

But what about Chuma Edoga? He’s the utility lineman who assumed Tyron’s left tackle job in Miami last week due to a toe injury.

As they prepare for the playoffs, the 10-5 Cowboys are optimistic about their general health. But, as you can see from the above Wednesday injury report, all of this is worth keeping an eye on.

TALENT ‘INJECTION’ ON DEC 26? Tyron Smith (back) of the Cowboys was a no-show for Tuesday’s exercise at The Star after missing Sunday’s loss to the Dolphins.

But Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is optimistic – and very honestly – about Tyron finding a way to play against the Detroit Lions on Saturday night.

“Hopefully Tyron will show up,” Jones said to @1053thefan. “We injected him last week, which is generally effective. We’re hoping to get him. Tyron Smith, he makes a significant difference.”

Um … yes. Tyron would be a significant “injection” of talent back into the Dallas lineup.

The complete injury practice report for both playoff-bound clubs is available above.

PRESCOTT FINDING COOKS DEC 24 The Dallas Cowboys haven’t given fans much to rejoice about this season, trailing the Miami Dolphins since 17 seconds into the second half.

However, the Cowboys retook the lead late in the fourth quarter when Dak Prescott found Brandin Cooks in the endzone for an eight-yard touchdown pass, giving Dallas a 20-19 edge.

DAK AS SANTA COWBOYS QB DEC 24 Dak Prescott is certainly in the Christmas spirit – and in style – as he arrived to Hard Rock Stadium in Miami making a fashion statement… dressed as Santa Claus.

No, he’s not dressed as Santa for the Miami Dolphins game, but… well, see for yourself!

If the 10-4 Cowboys win today against the 10-4 Dolphins, there will be plenty of Christmas cheer to go around.
OKAY, TYREEK, DEC 22? NOT SO QUICK? When we say, “Not so fast,” we are definitely not referring to MVP candidate Tyreek Hill’s foot speed.

Rather, we’re talking to the assumption made by many after learning on Thursday that the Miami Dolphins All-Pro receiver is participating in practice… that he and his ankle will be OK for Sunday’s game against the Dallas Cowboys.

But, before making any assumptions, NFL fans should read the exceptional notebook from our partners at AllDolphins at SI, where veteran beat reporter Omar Kelly meticulously notes what Hill is doing in the exercise.
“Despite participating in Thursday’s practice, Dolphins All-Pro wide receiver Tyreek Hill’s status remains unknown,” the article writes. “His speed was evident, but Hill struggled to shift gears when attempting to slow down during the portions of practice that the media witnessed.”

“The Dolphins planned to proceed with caution this week in the hopes that Hill would be able to return to the lineup against the Cowboys on Sunday.”

Hill is “expected to play,” according to Ian Rapoport. And the Cowboys, who are 10-4, are preparing for the Dolphins, who are also 10-4. “Hill’s status for the Dallas game will likely not be determined until very late in the week, if not game day,” Kelly said.

TWO MOVES ON DECEMBER 16TH Davis & Davis – defensive tackle Carl Davis and running back Malik Davis – have been promoted off the practice squad for Sunday’s game against the Buffalo Bills.

The D-line change was expected; veteran Carl Davis will make his Cowboys debut in place of Johnathan Hankins, who is out with an ankle injury.

Meanwhile, Rico Dowdle is dealing with an ankle injury, so Malik Davis is stepping up for a day in Buffalo that may require more ground game in wet and windy weather.

PRESCOTT AMONG ROONEY SPORTSMANSHIP AWARD CONTENDERS DEC 14 Dak Prescott of the Dallas Cowboys is one of eight contenders for the Art Rooney Sportsmanship Award, which was announced on Thursday. The award, which was established in 2014, is named after the founder of the Pittsburgh Steelers and rewards on-field sportsmanship.

Budda Baker (Arizona), Maxx Crosby (Las Vegas), Kyle Juszczyk (San Francisco), Khalil Mack (LA Chargers), C.J. Mosley (NY Jets), Bobby Wagner (Seattle), and Kevin Zeitler (Baltimore) are among the other nominees.

The Rooney Award is simply another distinction that has drawn attention to Prescott during his resurgence season under Dallas center. It will be one of many titles presented at the NFL Honors on Feb. 8 in advance of Super Bowl LVIII.

DEC 13: NFL CONFIRMS BRAZIL GAME, WITH NFC TEAM HOSTING The NFL announced on Wednesday that a regular-season game in So Paulo, Brazil, will take place in 2024. While the date and opponents have yet to be established, an NFC team will host with the conference as a result of an extra home game in the revised schedule rotation.

Is it possible that the Dallas Cowboys will be involved?

The game will be the first NFL game played in South America, and it will take place at Arena Corinthians, the home of the Brazilian association football club Sport Club Corinthians Paulista. It also hosted the opening games of the 2014 FIFA World Cup, as well as a number of matches in the 2016 Summer Olympic soccer events.

“Bringing the NFL to new continents, countries, and cities around the world is a critical element of our plan to continue to grow the game globally,” NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said in a statement. “Brazil has established itself as a key market for the NFL, and we are excited to be playing in Brazil and Sao Paulo for the first time in 2024.”
Moving to So Paulo, which apparently beat out Madrid for hosting responsibilities, is part of the NFL’s ongoing foreign expansion attempts. This year’s International Series featured five games spaced out between London and Frankfurt. It’s also feasible that the Miami Dolphins, who were awarded Brazil as an international home market, will play in So Paulo.

So, how about Dolphins at Cowboys? Two problems, despite the Dallas-related rumors …

For starters, Dallas will not meet Miami next season. If the Dolphins are engaged, the Cowboys are not.

Two, because of the money generated by home games at AT&T Stadium, the Cowboys – who have only played in one international regular-season game, a victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars in London in 2014 – are often hesitant to give up games in Arlington.

The Cowboys do, however, have the NFL’s strongest presence south of the border, so the appeal for some is understandable.

FANS FIGHT ON DEC 11TH! On Sunday evening, the Philadelphia Eagles did not put up much of a fight against the Dallas Cowboys. But fans of the two teams chose to go at it in the concourse of AT&T Stadium in Arlington… and then just down the street at Texas Live.

The Cowboys won 33-13 over the Eagles. But apparently there wasn’t enough amusement for a few fools who chose to deface the scene with violent foolishness.
On the escalator? A pair of jerks nearly damaged a memorabilia display.

And down the street? It appears that men are wrestling with and hitting women …

Is it all fueled by alcohol? Misplaced devotion to their favorite teams? Is it simply a lack of intelligence?

THEY’RE COMING ON DECEMBER 10TH! The Dallas Cowboys have just opened the doors here at AT&T Stadium for the big game against the Philadelphia Eagles on ‘Sunday Night Football’… and the buzz is obvious.

Check it out for yourself!

Since losing 28-23 to the Eagles in Week 9, the Cowboys have done so much right, improving to 9-3 and giving the 10-2 Eagles a run for their money in the NFC East. The Cowboys have won four straight games, scoring 40 points or more in three of them. And now what?

Dallas must defeat Philadelphia on Sunday night if it expects to capture the NFC East division title in 2023.

The Cowboys are encouraged by their 14-game home winning streak and their five-game winning streak when the Philadelphia Eagles visit.
