Fans are quite upset over the Detroit Lions’ decision to send “Lions Loyal” members notifications about season ticket renewals for the 2024 campaign this week. Twitter users complained on Monday about massive price increases for the upcoming year, with many stating that the cost of their tickets would double by 2024.

According to research conducted by Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press and Justin Rogers of the Detroit News, many fans are seeing price rises as high as 85% this year. According to a team representative who spoke with the Detroit Free Press, price increases average thirty percent.

It’s important to note that throughout the previous five years, Lions ticket prices have stayed mostly consistent. In 2022, season ticket rates remained unchanged, while in 2023, there was an average four percent increase.

Team president Rod Wood told the Free Press back in March, “We took some areas that were tougher to sell and we lowered those prices, so when you put the whole aggregate in, it was down about 4%.” “So we’re back to 2018 pricing thanks to that 4% increase.”

Wood has not yet made any public remarks regarding the rise for 2024.

Many supporters, who felt their commitment during the hard years was unappreciated, were taken aback by the hefty boost.

It’s obvious that there is a huge demand for Lions tickets. Every home game is sold out, and the Lions have a waiting list for season tickets for the first time in Ford Field history. This is a glimpse of their average attendance figures from the epidemic year of 2020.

51,522 (79.9% capacity) in 2021
63,423 (98.3%) in 2022
65,081 (100.9%) in 2023

Even still, it’s a difficult blow for devoted Lions supporters who had been expecting for a winner and were then priced out of their tickets.

  • Both Sam LaPorta and Jahmyr Gibbs are up for NFL Rookie of the Week. VOTE FOR THEM HERE.
  • Speaking of those rooks, here’s a collection of accomplishments those two have made in their premiere seasons:

Excellent article from Colton Pouncy of The Athletic about how the Lions are poised to win their first division championship in thirty years, which is exactly where they want to be.

The “Quick Reads” from DVOA are among my best reads. Jared Goff, Jahmyr Gibbs, and Amon-Ra St. Brown all had top-five performances in Week 15 at their respective positions.
