The Detroit Lions were having defensive problems before their game against the Denver Broncos. In each of its previous five games, the defense had given up at least 26 points and 330 yards.
It’s not as though the Lions defense couldn’t play better, though. In Week 15, the defense accomplished just that, limiting Denver to just 17 points and 287 yards against the Broncos.
Isaiah Buggs, a defensive tackle for the Lions, attributed the team’s success to their cohesive play and made a daring prediction about the squad should they keep playing as a unit.
That’s the main point, dude. According to SI.com’s All Lions’ Christian Booker, on December 16, Buggs told reporters, “Once we click and gel like that, we’re unstoppable.” “We’ve actually been practicing that since Week 1 and have been doing so all week.
“We made that happen tonight—just coming together and making the plays when it comes to us, being in the right spot, technique, and fundamental soundness.”
The Lions limited the Broncos to 83 running yards in addition to the other outstanding stats. Detroit had not given up as few yards, scoring, or rushing yards in a game since Week 8.

The fumble was recovered 33 yards by Buggs.

Week 16: Lions Take on an Unreliable Vikings Offense
The second half of the season has seen a significant improvement in Minnesota’s running offense. The Vikings have averaged 132.3 running yards per game since Week 9.
However, the Vikings are still erratic at quarterback.
After a few poor outings, Joshua Dobbs, who had been taking the NFL by storm for several weeks, was benched by the Vikings in favor of Nick Mullens.
In Week 15, Mullens increased the Vikings’ aerial assault. Mullens outran the Cincinnati Bengals by an average of 9.2 yards per attempt. But he also took three sacks and had two interceptions.
The Lions can win their first division championship since 1993 if they defeat the Vikings. If the Los Angeles Rams lose or tie on Thursday Night Football, the Lions might already be guaranteed a spot in the postseason before the game even begins.
