What would you look like if you had to make an impression of yourself reacting to the Detroit Lions finally winning the Super Bowl?
On Jimmy Kimmel Live, Detroit’s own Keegan-Michael Key, famed for performing impressions of all kinds, was asked to do one of himself if he had just watched his beloved team lift the Lombardi trophy.
“I have to prepare,” he remarked, entering a mental zone that few of us have ventured to visit — at least not until this season.
Moments later, he gets out of his chair, goes across the stage, sprints through the audience, and nearly kisses a stranger, all while yelling “Oh my God.” He eventually collapses on the floor. I’d think it’s quite accurate for the majority of Lions fans.
With a string of disappointing losses under their belt in recent weeks, there are whispers among fans that this may not be the team to reach the championship game. But, for the time being, sports fans all over the world are clinging to something quite important – hope.
