The NFL playoffs won’t begin for another month. However, based on how Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff answered a reporter’s query on December 6, one may assume they play this weekend.

Goff sent a message to the media, emphasizing that the Lions must not only maintain their focus but also keep improving as the season nears.

Recognize that everyone is kind of in the mindset that they need to win these games and that they all have goals in mind. Nobody is unaffected,” Goff informed the press. Since winning is everyone’s goal in a game, you must recognize that you need to increase your level of urgency while maintaining a process-oriented mindset and having faith in your daily practice routine.

“But, you do pick up a little bit of intensity this late in the year.”

For his Lions teammates, Goff’s remarks regarding NFL postseason and late-season football should have great significance. He is one of the few Lions players with a Super Bowl appearance under his belt.

Detroit wants to win a division championship for the first time since 1993.

Lions’ elite offense is led by quarterback Jared Goff.

This season, the 29-year-old signal caller has occasionally had trouble with giveaways. Eight interceptions is more than he had in 2022 combined.

In the first game against the Chicago Bears, Goff threw three interceptions. This season, he has also stumbled five times. The Green Bay Packers recovered all three of his fumbles on Thanksgiving.

Despite this, Goff has still been a highly productive passer, averaging 7.6 yards per attempt and 20 touchdowns. In addition, his career-best completion rate of 67.7% is attained.

The Lions are fourth in passing yards and second in total offense this season thanks to Goff’s output. In addition, Detroit’s points per game ranking is sixth.

The Lions finished sixth in offensive points scored and fourth in yards last season. Their goal is to place in the top 5 in both categories for the first time since 1953–1954.

But Goff appears to understand that in order to win the NFC North and go to the postseason, he and the Lions offense will need to keep getting better.

The Chicago weather will test the Lions against the Bears.

The Bears, who controlled Detroit for the first fifty-five minutes in Week 11 before Goff and the offense staged a 12-point rally, will present the Lions with their next challenge.

The Lions may also be put to the test by the weather in Chicago.

“Weather and turners have a great leveling effect.” On December 6, Lions head coach Dan Campbell told the reporters, “I feel like that works for us too because it puts you on a little bit more even playing ground.” They must think it works for them, in my opinion. It also functions well for us.

Goff promised that he would be ready.

Goff remarked, “Whatever happens, we’ll be ready, and I’ll be ready.” “I’ve participated in a variety of games, including windy and chilly ones. Yes, we’ll see, and I’ll be prepared to leave.

In their previous ten road encounters with Chicago, the Lions are 6-4. In the series, they have prevailed in two of the last three games at Solider Field.
